I only buy salted butter, because that’s just what we prefer. The coconut I use is sweetened, but I imagine unsweetened would taste great too- just less sweet.

OMG Brent- yes!! They need 3 cups of quick oats!! I am SO sorry- looking back it seems the measurements for this recipe accidently got altered. I changed them- 3 cups! I appreciate your comment!

I hope I do not come off as rude, but are you positive thay your recipe calls for 3/4 cup of oats and not 3-4 cups of oats? The only way I can get them to set up while cooling is if I put in 4 cups of oats. In your little instructional video on this page, you put in the coconut (3/4c) and then the oats, and the oats added are way more than the 3/4c written. Hopefully this helps! Hi Carol… so are you using butter or margarine? Did you double check all the ingredients and make sure you’re adding the correct amounts? This is one of my most tested recipes and I’ve never heard of the cookies not setting, so I’d love to figure this out! Are you cooling the mixture a bit before scooping them onto wax/ parchment paper?

No, it takes a few minutes of the mixture cooling to set up, but it does set up! Try it again without adding anything additional. I’ve tested this recipe extensively, even having people on various states/ elevations test it and they do set up. You might just have to cool the mixture for another 5-10 minutes.

Hi Jessica: i made the “Best Made No Bake Cookies [made with no peanut butter] yesterday & I had to add a lot more Quick Oats as the batter was too runny for the cookies to ever set up, I knew there was too much butter in the batter, I think 1 cup of butter was way too much liquid for only 3/4 cup of quick oats. Please tell me what went wrong..
