My grandmother made this for her xmas cookies every year. When I was old enough, she taught me and we’ve had it always. It was a tradition passed down in our family to every generation. I am now the family matriarch. My mother passed 1and1/2 years ago at 95 yrs old. Our lineage was southern from North Carolina. My oldest daughter is the one who makes them (hundreds) every xmas and sends them all over the country. I am now almost 76 and my son’s daughter and I w/ her Mom are starting the latest version here in Ohio. We’ve decided to have a competition with the N C. Family this year… It’s a wonderful memory AND tast tradition to carry on in your family. ONLY CHRISTMAS COOKIE I’LL EAT! LOVE THEM.🥰
