Almond Drop Cookies are so easy to make and have a delicious nutty flavor that is sure to please any palate. This easy butter cookie recipe requires only a few ingredients such as flour, sugar, butter, extracts and almonds.
Prep: Preheat the oven to 350° F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicon mats, set them aside.
Dough: In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until almost white, about 10-12 minutes. Beat in the almond and vanilla extracts.
Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in slivered almonds.
Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Flatten slightly with a glass bottom dipped in sugar. Top with a whole almond.
Bake: Place the cookies in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Let the cookies cool for about 2 minutes on the baking sheets before transferring to wire racks to cool completely. Serve immediately and enjoy!
