Best Soft Sugar Cookies

– 1 cup sugar – ½ cup butter softened – 1 egg – 1 tsp vanilla extract – ⅓ cup sour cream – ½ tsp salt – ½ tsp baking soda – 2 cups flour

Cream together sugar and butter for 2-3 minutes. Add egg, vanilla extract and sour cream.

In separate bowl, combine flour, salt and baking soda. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture, beat until smooth.

Place a towel or plastic wrap over the bowl and place in the refrigerator to chill the dough for several hours, at least 2 hours for best results.

Roll out dough and cut with shaped cutters. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes.

Beat butter until smooth. Then beat in remaining ingredients until smooth, about 2 minutes. Add additional milk a little at a time if thinner consistency is desired.

Spread on some frosting, and decorate them however you want. Add some fun sprinkles for a colorful and fun addition!
