In a microwave, melt butter and chocolate chips; stir until smooth.
Mix brown sugar and corn syrup with an electric mixer until well blended. Beat in egg and chocolate butter mixture.
In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and salt; gradually beat into brown sugar mixture. Cover bowl and refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350°F. In a shallow bowl, mix powdered sugar and remaining 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Scoop dough using a medium sized cookie scoop. Roll into a ball, then roll in powdered sugar mixture.
Place cookies on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
Bake until cookies are set and tops are cracked, 10-12 minutes. Cool on pans 2 minutes. Remove to wire racks to finish cooling.
