Brown Sugar Cookies are soft, chewy, and full of flavor, making them a favorite among both kids and adults. The brown sugar glaze recipe adds a rich sweetness that perfectly complements the cookie's texture and taste.
Prep: Preheat oven to 300°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set them aside.
Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk butter, sugars & vanilla for 2 minutes. Add in flour and salt, then mix again.
Roll and Cut: Dust a clean countertop with flour and roll dough out to between ½ inch to ¼ inch thickness. Cut rounds using a 2" round cookie cutter and place them on baking trays.
Bake and Cool: Bake 20-22 minutes. Let cool on the tray for about 3-5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to fully cool.
Brown sugar icing: Melt butter in a saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Add in brown sugar and whisk for 2 minutes.
Reduce heat, then add remaining ingredients. Whisk until smooth, keeping pan on stove for another 3-4 minutes.
Remove from heat. Spoon icing on cooled cookies. Let cool to set. Enjoy!

These cookies will stay fresh for up to 5 days if stored in an airtight container at room temperature.Place them in an airtight container or freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving. Add icing after cookies are thawed for best results.
