Healthy Homemade Dog Cookies made with carrot, oats, peanut butter & apple! Our favorite healthy dog treat recipe is packed with nutrients, easily made at home and is perfect for your favorite fur friend!
½cupcreamy peanut butterShould NOT contain Xylitol as it can cause toxicity in dogs
¼cupmilk
1egg
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly coat a baking sheet with non-stick spray, set aside.
In a food processor, or blender shred the oats. Pulse for 4 to 5 times until the oats are broken down into smaller pieces but not quite flour. (Makes it easier for pups to munch on them)
With a stand mixer, combine flour, oats, shredded carrot, and shredded apple. Add peanut butter, milk, egg, and the flour mixture. Mix until you have a thick dough.
On a floured surface, I used about 1 tablespoon of flour (you may need to use more) to press the dough until 1/4” thick.
Use your favorite cookie-cutter and cut the cookies. I used a bone 1 ½ inch from Wilton and a star (1 inch) shape cookie cutter. You can use any cutters you have. If you don’t have any cutters, you can cut strips and break them to the desired length.
Place the cut treats onto the prepared cookie sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes. Flip the cookies and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes. Cool completely & hope your pup enjoys them!
