Triple Chocolate Cherry Cookies are Black Forest Cake in cookie form! Soft & chewy chocolate cookies full of white and dark chocolate chips & cherry bits with lovely flavor!
½cupmaraschino cherries, drained and finely chopped + additional cherries to top the cookies
1cupsemi-sweet chocolate chips + additional chocolate chips to top the cookies
Instructions
Heat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Finely chop and pat dry the cherries with a paper towel. Set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar for 3 minutes until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, beat again.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until just combined. Continue mixing by hand with a spatula.
Add in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips, mixing with a spatula until combined.
Form 15 balls. Place them on the baking sheet, spaced 2 inches apart. With your palm, gently press down on each dough ball to flatten slightly. Top the cookies with additional maraschino cherry pieces and chocolate chips.
Bake for 12-15 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
