Apple Spice Cookies are soft & chewy cookies packed with fresh apples & fall spices! With chopped apples, walnuts, and a simple powdered sugar glaze on top, these cookies are hard to resist!
1cupapplefinely chopped- HoneyCrisp, Fugi or Gala work well!
Icing
½cuppowdered sugar
1-2tsphot water
Instructions
Heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Chop the apple into small chunks, set aside.
In a large bowl whisk the brown sugar and butter until creamy. Add the milk and egg, mix again.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ground cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and stir to combine. Fold in the chopped walnuts, raisins, and apple chunks and gently mix to combine.
Place rounded dough balls about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cookies are slightly browned around the edge. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.
Prepare the icing by whisking the powdered sugar with hot water until smooth. Once the cookies have cooled, drizzle with icing. Cool to set. Serve & enjoy!
Notes
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 5-7 days. Avoid refrigerating, as this can dry them out quickly.For longer storage, freeze the cookies in a sealed bag they will last up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving to restore their texture.
