BEST No Bake Cookies made with quick oats, coconut, walnuts, melted chocolate, butter, sugar and milk for a simple no-bake cookie without peanut butter!

I love the fantastic chocolate coconut flavor in these no-bake cookies! I like peanut butter, but when you add it to cookies, the flavor tends to take over. So by leaving it out, your chocolate cookies have a wider variety of flavors!
Amazing No Bake Cookies
No-bake cookies are an addictive cookie recipe that do not require any time in an oven! They also do not include ingredients such as eggs or flour. A lot of no bake cookies include peanut butter as well, it is great for binding ingredients together. For our no bake cookie recipe we do not include peanut butter, we think they form well and taste incredible without it.
This is a great recipe during the warmer months of the year as you can create tasty cookies without turning the oven on and heating the house up any more than it already is.

No Bake Oatmeal and Coconut Cookie Ingredients

Coconut: For extra delicious flavor and texture, add in 3/4 cup of coconut flakes.
Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips: You need 1 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips for a fantastic chocolatey addition to these cookies.

Which oats are best for No Bake Cookies?
Different recipes will call for different kinds of oats, but to make the best “No Bake Cookies”, you should use quick oats. Quick oats are physically smaller than old fashioned oats, so they have a better bite with these cookies than larger oats.

Can these Cookies be frozen?
Yes, these cookies can be frozen in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Try to freeze them in a single layer or with layers separated with parchment paper.
What to do when No Bake Cookies recipe won’t set?
Putting your cookies in the fridge or freezer will help them firm up a bit. To avoid your cookies not setting, make sure you set a timer when you boil the cookie dough.

Will Chocolate No-Bake Cookies stick to foil?
I have seen these cookies stick to aluminum foil before, but it does not always happen. To avoid the hassle and the risk I would recommend using wax paper or parchment paper as that is what has always worked for me!
Do No Bake Cookies need to be refrigerated?
I highly recommend putting no bake cookies in the fridge, it will help the cookies to hold a firmer shape. They also will last longer if you keep them in the fridge. However, they technically don’t have to be refrigerated. You can store them in an airtight container in room temperature and they will be fine too. It just depends on your preference, if you like them room temperature or chilled.
How long does it take for no bake cookies to set?
These cookies only take about 15-20 minutes to cool and set up at room temperature, but you can reduce that time by at least half if you let them set up in the refrigerator. If you prefer the taste and texture of these cookies at room temperature just make sure to remove them from the refrigerator once set. You can definitely eat them while cold though too! I think they somehow taste better cold.

Heidi says
I’m so confused… where’s the peanut butter?
Ashley says
Any idea if l could cut the oats in half but use the old fashioned kind (because my husband and I both have a gluten allergy and quick oats can be cross contaminated) and still have the cookies not get dry and crumbly?
Keri Holcomb says
You can use old fashion oats and just put them in the blender or food processor for just a few seconds that is the only difference between old fashion and quick oats. The quicks outs are just chopped old fashion

No you are not crazy….
There is NO PEANUT BUTTER in these no bakes even though it claims to include it in 4 places, even in bold lettering….
It does not include peanut butter in the ingredients, video or recipe either. I would assume she probably just kept typing Peanut Butter to get her higher in an SEO search.
We will see how these chocolate no bake, NO peanut butter cookies turn out.. Fingers crossed?

Hi Jessica: i made the “Best Made No Bake Cookies [made with no peanut butter] yesterday & I had to add a lot more Quick Oats as the batter was too runny for the cookies to ever set up, I knew there was too much butter in the batter, I think 1 cup of butter was way too much liquid for only 3/4 cup of quick oats. Please tell me what went wrong..
Jessica says
No, it takes a few minutes of the mixture cooling to set up, but it does set up! Try it again without adding anything additional. I’ve tested this recipe extensively, even having people on various states/ elevations test it and they do set up. You might just have to cool the mixture for another 5-10 minutes.
