Spring Flower Cookies
I couldn’t wait to share these darling flower cookies with you all! I saw the idea to use a halved Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup as a flower pot from an old Taste of Home Cookbook and everything else came together quickly after that. Using marshmallows as flowers is something I’ve also done for pudding cups- you can see my Spring version here and a Fall version here. It’s so fun!

Marshmallow Flower Cookie Ingredients
Cookies: You will need 2 dozen cooked and cooled sugar cookies to decorate with the lovely Spring scene.
Light blue frosting: See below for an easy homemade frosting recipe, you can also use store bought frosting if you like. Add a couple drops of food coloring to make it the light blue color we are going for.
Jellybeans: You need 24 green jellybeans and 24 yellow ones to create the flowers on each cookie.
Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups: For the flowerpot, use 12 Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, cut in half.
Mini marshmallows: Using mini marshmallows (about 72), cut in half, will help create the festive Spring flowers.
Colored sugar sprinkles: You will want to use yellow and pink sugar sprinkles to color the mini marshmallows and add a fun pop of color to these cookies!
Homemade frosting
Butter: You will need 2 TBSP of butter, softened, to make the frosting rich in taste.
Powder sugar: Add in 1 ½ cups of powder sugar for a perfectly sweet cookie topping.
Milk: Using 1-2 TBSP of milk will create a nice frosting consistency. You can use more or less, depending on how thick you like your frosting.
Vanilla extract: To help enhance the wonderful flavors, add in ½ tsp of vanilla extract.
Blue food coloring: Adding in 2 drops of blue food coloring creates a beautiful soft blue color for the topping.
How to make Easy Marshmallow Flower Cookies
Prep
To begin this recipe, you need 24 cooked and cooled sugar cookies. You can buy store bought cookies if you’d like to make this super easy. But you can also make your own cookies as well. Check out this recipe for Crispy Sugar Cookies, just leave off the frosting!
Next, whip up some sweet homemade frosting! In a small bowl, whisk together the softened butter, powder sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and blue food coloring. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Create Spring Scene
Proceed to frost each cookie with the blue frosting and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Then, cut the mini-Reese’s cups in half and place each half towards the bottom of each cookie. After that, arrange 1 green jellybean lengthwise above the peanut butter cup.
Next, cut each mini marshmallow diagonally, then dip the sticky part into the colored sugar. Arrange the marshmallow halves around the top of the cookie in a circular shape, add the yellow jellybean in the center of the marshmallow flower petals.
Repeat the process for each cookie until you have an entire garden in your kitchen! Use the pink and yellow colored sugar sprinkles to have a beautiful and colorful cookie garden.
Serve and enjoy!
HOW LONG ARE FLOWER SUGAR COOKIES GOOD FOR?
These cookies should be good for up to 5 days if kept stored in an airtight container at room temperature. Place a piece of parchment paper between layers to keep them from sticking together.
Can I freeze frosted cookies?
Yes, you can freeze these cookies. They will last up to 3 months if store properly. To freeze them, place your frosted cookies onto a baking sheet and freeze for about 2 hours until the frosting is solid. Then transfer to an airtight container with a piece of parchment paper or wax paper between the cookies to prevent sticking. You can also put them each in individual ziplocked bags after the initial freezing process, for quick access to a sweet treat.

Jumping pictures are among my kid’s favorite pictures to take. Often, when I’m trying to get a few good photos and a few aren’t cooperating, I’ll dangle the carrot of taking a jumping picture. It usually works instantly and they’re all happy smiles while talking about just how they’re going to make this jumping picture the MOST EPIC one yet. Truthfully, I’ll take smiles in any form, so I kind of like them too.
