Giant peanut butter cookies recipe
We’re calling these cookies “giant” because of their size. They can easily outweigh a regular-sized cookie and the size is about that of the palm of your hand, if not larger. Large cookies are something we are enjoying more and more here lately but nothing beats that classic taste of peanut butter and chocolate. The only way to improve is to make the experience last longer and that’s what we did here by increasing the cookie size.
Giant Peanut Butter Cookies Ingredients
-Butter: You will need ½ cup (one stick) of unsalted butter.
-Sugars: Use 3/4 cup of brown sugar and ¼ cup of granulated white sugar for a sweet and chewy cookie.
-Egg: You will need 1 large egg to help bind the dough together well.
-Vanilla: Use a teaspoon of vanilla extract to make the dough well flavored.
-Peanut butter: We want a lot of great taste so adding in ½ cup of peanut butter will give us a great cookie packed with flavor.
-Flour: The base of the cookie dough mixture is 2 cups of all-purpose flour.
-Salt: To help naturally enhance the flavors in the dough use ½ teaspoon of salt.
-Baking powder: This is a leavening agent that will help the cookies to puff up nicely. Use ½ teaspoon of baking powder.
-Candies: You will need 1 ¼ cups each of semi-sweet chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, Reese’s Mini cups and Reese’s Pieces candy.
How to make Reeses Peanut butter cookies
Cream together the butter and both sugars until fluffy.
Beat in the egg, vanilla, and peanut butter.
Add in your flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until just combined. The dough will appear very crumbly.
Add in ¼ cup each of the semisweet chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and Reese’s pieces, stirring them into the dough.
Divide the dough out into 6 equal-sized portions and form each one into a ball.
Press the remaining chips and Reese’s Mini cups & Reese’s Pieces all over the top and sides of the cookies.
Place the cookies in the fridge to chill for at least 30 minutes.
While the cookies are chilling, preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
Bake your cookies for 18 minutes and allow them to cool for 5 minutes on the cookie sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
How long are peanut butter cookies good for?
These cookies are still tasting great about 3 days later but you should make sure to eat them within a week or freeze the cookies if you can’t eat within that timeframe. This will help so that they don’t go to waste. Keep them stored in an airtight container for maximum freshness.
Do I have to chill the cookie dough?
Yes, chilling the dough is what gets the cookies to firm up and hold their shape better through the baking process. If you chose to bake without chilling the dough you will notice that the cookies spread further and aren’t the same fluffy soft texture as they are if child. Plus the additional time helps the flavors to develop more so it’s worth it.

Earlier this summer 3 of my 5 kids were away at overnight camps, which left my youngest 2 with their own rooms for the week! Score, right?! Wrong. See, the problem with being kid #4 or #5 is that you’re just not used to being alone. Ever. So all it took was an hour alone and sure enough, these two were suddenly bunking with me. At least their had their own bed. It was a fun, week-long slumber party!
